Additional LM Cooler for Distillers

This auxiliary LM cooler is used to lower the temperature of the distillate collected from an LM system, making it suitable for precise strength measurement in a parrot. This specialized cooler attaches to the LM system's discharge valve and is available in various configurations, designed to fit stills with either a standard brass valve (Terra and Basic models) or a precision Riegler valve with a ¼” thread (Premium, Elite, and Thor Elite models), as well as in a basic version.

Efficient Design

The internal water channels make this cooler very efficient, and it connects in series within the water circuit, placed before the main top condenser.

Temperature Control for Accurate Readings

The LM cooler enables the cooling of warm distillate from the LM system to 20°C, allowing direct transfer to a parrot for accurate measurements unaffected by high temperatures. Additionally, cooling the product reduces odors in the distillation area. You can use an existing parrot from the provided link or select one with a Tri-Clamp connection from the dropdown options at the top of the product page. If the cooler is purchased with a parrot, it will be equipped with a Tri-Clamp flange at the bottom, which can also connect to a condenser end if a parrot is not in use.

Connection Options

The cooler's inlet depends on the chosen mounting option: either a barb for a silicone hose or a ¼” nipple for threading into a Riegler valve. The outlet diameter for the cooled distillate matches that of the VM (OVM) condenser (15mm), making it compatible with standard silicone hoses from our store.

Available Accessories:

1. No Accessories – The cooler alone with an inlet for a silicone hose (standard 15mm inlet and outlet for the distillate).
2. Brass Valve Mounting Accessories – For Terra and Basic models, the cooler features an inlet sized for the LM valve output (with a matching silicone hose included). The set includes a pipe clamp for mounting the cooler to the still and a PVC hose for water connection.
3. ¼” Thread Valve Mounting Accessories – For Premium, Elite, Prime, and Thor models, this version includes a ¼” threaded inlet for direct attachment to the valve, plus a 0.5m PVC hose for water connection. For new stills and Elite/Thor models, a 90-degree elbow is recommended, and for previously ordered Premium and AAbratek models without a cooler, a 45-degree threaded elbow is advised for downward-angled valves.

Important Note:

The LM cooler is indispensable for simple distillations such as whisky, slivovitz, or calvados when used with a parrot. This cooler is made to order and cannot be returned or exchanged once customized. If the configuration remains unclear, please contact us before placing your order.
