What kind of still to choose?

This seemingly difficult question is very easy to answer if you know what kind of spirit you want to get with its help. Do not worry if this is your first contact with such equipment! Each still comes with an authoritative, detailed, illustrated, and colorful instruction manual written in such a way that even someone for whom this will be the first contact with home alcohol making will not have a problem with it. So get to it!

1 You are only interested in pure spirit? Do you make a lot of tinctures and require a neutral product for their creation, one that will not mask the taste of the herbs and fruits used with their sharpness? Do you like only pure vodka, in which there are no unnecessary yeasty aromas and sharp, pungent taste? Choose a copper reflux still. You'll easily get a product of more than 96% without flavor and aroma taint. The better equipped the column, the easier, faster, and simpler the process on it.

2. pure vodka and liquor spirits are important and you want to make them, but you also want to get flavored distillates? Some whiskey, maybe a plum brandy? Didn't your wine come out and you want to make fruit brandy? Here, too, copper reflux still will work. Copper columns are very versatile, they can make many different distillates-including flavored ones. The easiest to use, most recommended, and beginner-friendly is the Elite still!

3) You don't want to make an odorless spirit, but rather distillate with a taste of raw materials - fruit and grain? Do you want to try different flavors, and process those wines from the cellar? Choose a copper pot-still. This is the most traditional and simplest equipment. Here it is the operator who deals the cards, dividing the distillate into fractions, which he then blends together - like a master distiller in a distillery. If you have small quantities of wines and liquors, or want to experiment with recipes, choose a micro pot-still. If you fancy more flavorful spirits made from different raw materials-we recommend the classic pot-still.

4 Maybe you want to start with fruit and grain distillates, but don't rule out that in the future you will expand and upgrade your equipment so that it can also receive 96%? You can choose a copper pot-still with flanges for expansion. Thanks to the flanges you can equip your distiller with different types of attachments (aromatizing for gin, or refluxing to reduce losses and strengthen the product), but also expand it to a complete reflux still with LM head.

5 If, on the other hand, you want to take a professional and uncompromising approach and distill your own whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or calvados-choose a copper plate still. This is the equipment used by craft distilleries around the world. The most "heart", that is, the best distillate with minimal waste- plus the amazing look and pleasure of working with beautiful equipment. You can add many professional accessories to the plate column-a gin aromatizer, a cleaning-in-place (CIP) wash attachment or a spherical copper top-to create the best machine on the market. You can put it on any tank of your choice.
